ANA Airlines

All Nippon Airways (ANA)‘s newest ad campaign “Japan Elevated” is their US debut and first work created with their VMLY&R partnership. We’re honored to have been chosen to create the original music, sound design, and final mix for this gorgeous ad. ANA is the largest airline in Japan and prides itself on its sophistication, advanced technologies, and premium brand position. We worked with extended harmonic techniques and utilized a mix of Japanese instrumentation (taiko drum, Japanese gamelan, koto) and traditional classical ones (choir, celesta, piano) inside an electronic production to conjure the surreal imagery. The whole fantastical journey is designed to entice a North American audience of affluent millennials to explore Japan and all its wonders via ANA and its “elevated” in-flight experience.
